attThree models of the HTC One are stuck with Android Jelly Bean 4.1 as we speak and they are on the AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile networks.  Those of you that are hoping the Android Jelly Bean 4.3 update comes along soon, might have your hopes dashed since the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 update is likely to hit your device first.  Typically, smartphone software is updated in order when it comes to actual operating systems, so it would be extremely unlikely to see the Android Jelly Bean 4.3 update come before any other version on the HTC One.  Android Jelly Bean 4.3 has started to roll out to Nexus branded devices and that has been reported as a slow roll out by some consumers that own the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.

The HTC One was released in April and shortly after that was seen on all three networks with it missing from Verizon Wireless.  At the time, the smartphone had Android Jelly Bean 4.1 pre-installed and right now the status as not changed.  As users of one of the more popular devices wait around for the latest version of the software, they will be stuck longer than they might expect to have to wait.  The Android Jelly Bean software was released in July of last year, with Android versions 4.2 and 4.2.2 coming out between then and last month.

Android Jelly Bean 4.2 has been released on a global scale, so not seeing it in the United States is a little strange right now.  Verizon Wireless, which was one carrier that did not have the HTC One right at the release date, will be offering the handset soon, but that version will have the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 installed out of the box.  That way, the latest Android software is only one update away and that should be ready by the end of the year.  According to one Twitter account, the Android 4.2.2, will be sent out before the 4.3 version.

Even though HTC has not confirmed the exact plans they have in mind for the mobile carriers, one thing is clear and that is the fact that HTC One owners will be waiting for an update, no matter which one it is.  Because phone makers and mobile carriers tend to release the software in order, consumers that own the HTC One will not have any choice but to wait and be teased by the other devices that are already getting updated to the latest and greatest, Android 4.3.
