It looks like the HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone will be debuting on Sprint’s 4G wireless network and looks to be set for its red carpet debut on Thursday, May 24. Online retailing giant Amazon has set a retail price of $149 on contract for the handset in their wireless store, but there is no word yet if that is going to be the price at all retailers or if Amazon is discounting the device. What we do know is that the handset will come out-of-the-box with the highly regarded Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system, one of the largest screens of any 4G handset, a fast processor and Beats by Dr. Dre audio package.

Order the HTC Evo 4G LTE now for $149 and get it shipped out free two day shipping.

The Sense 4.0 user interface will overlay the Android ICS operating system, and the display mentioned above is a whopping 4.70 inches. With one of the best resolutions in the entire 4G smartphone marketplace at 720 x 1280 pixels, the display is represented in a high-end pixel density of 312 pixels per inch. Standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are used to navigate the device, and a protective layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass overlays the screen.

A non-removable, oversized 2,000 mAh battery is on board, and the hardware package includes a dual core Krait central processor that has been clocked at 1.5 GHz. A full 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board, 16 GB of built-in, user accessible data storage is present, and graphics are handled by the dedicated Adreno 225 processing chip. The multimedia package on board the HTC Evo 4G includes the high end, full range Beats by Dr. Dre audio package, built-in music player and a proprietary YouTube video player.

A 1.3 MP chat cam is up front with video call capability, with an 8.0 MP camcorder around back. That rear mounted snapper is a closet shutterbug’s dream, with such features as a back illuminated sensor (BSI), face detection, white balance, exposure control, smile detection, ISO control, multishot mode, digital zoom, self timer, geo-tagging, high dynamic range mode (HDR), autofocus, panorama mode and CMOS image sensor. The camcorder provides video capture at a high-resolution 1,080P HD.
